Remove MyWebSearch Using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware!

If you have tried downloading freeware, your PC is at risk of adware and malware. You know, MyWebSearch is bundled with the software you can download for free (not all though). Be careful because I have been a victim of that. Looking for some free downloadable stuffs, I did not know how MyWebSearch was installed in my PC. Unlike common installations, MyWebSearch cannot be removed via Control Panel.

MyWebSearch became my browsers’ default search engine / homepage! I was upset. I couldn’t remove it in any way! Avast Premier was not able to remove it, as well. What did I exactly do to remove it? I have looked for forums and scanned several threads about the perfect anti-virus or anti-malware that can remove MyWebSearch!

I have found Malwarebytes! Just to make it clear, Avast and Malwarebytes are different things. Avast is antivirus and Malwarebytes is pretty specific – anti-malware! As I’ve read opinions from tech-savvy guys, I’ve learned that Avast and Malwarebytes are compatible. That means that I can install both!

Malwarebytes has solved my problem! MyWebSearch has been removed together with other adware and malware!

Do you have the same problem? Try Malwarebytes. For me, and for many other guys out there, Avast and Malwarebytes are two things you should have in your PC. I have an Avast Premier and Free Malwarebytes. Avast free anti-virus is just fine. I have used the free versions of Avast for several years before I switched to Premier.

Have a great day!

  1. I have malwarebytes installed in my laptop and it is doing pretty well for a freeware. I hate it when the freebies I install come with bundled software. I usually remove them at once especially if I have no use for them. Many run in the background and slows my laptop. Plus, I have no idea what they can do to my system. I think it is best if we only install those that we really need.

    • You are right with that bro! I was upset with mywebsearch because it had replaced my favorite homepage and did not have a single idea how to remove it since I could not found it on the programs installed on my PC. My trial have just expired, and I am using the free version of malwarebytes now. No real time protection, but I guess this will help me protect my pc from unwanted programs.
