Smoking is dangerous to our health. We are aware about that. But there are a lot of people who ignore the danger of smoking. To be honest, I used to smoke. It was an influence with my peer in college. I regret why I smoked a stick when I was invited to do so. I did not blame them for that, it was my decision. From a single stick of cigarettes, my mouth craved for more. It was really addicting until such time I consumed a pack of cigarettes in one day. That was alarming.
On August 2012, I stopped smoking. I told myself, okay, this is your last stick and you have to say goodbye to smoking. At first, I felt sad because I know my friends would be disappointed with me. You know, I even have to leave them in order to forget the lifestyle that I used to. Undeniably, I enjoyed it.
My decision was final. I stopped smoking that instant. You know, we have the power to stop the vices that would eventually ruin our lives. The advices of other people may not work out if we are not going to decide it for ourselves.
Look back, and look at the bountiful creatures made by God. People are destroying the Mother Nature, and so we are destroying the very core of our existence. When we hate people for cutting down trees, we have to hate smoking too, because it’s cutting down our own lives.
Our life is a gift. We have to take care of it. We have to love it. We have to love it because it’s God’s gift.
What would you feel when you give a precious gift to your child and your child just ignores it and give it no value at all? God surely will feel that way.
