Technology is helping many Filipino people in various ways, which includes the ability to get a credit score in no time online.
This is true with Tala Philippines. Tala Philippines is an online application. It is available in the Google Play Store for download.
After the installation, anyone is ready to apply for a loan.
How Tala Philippines works?
Its technology evaluates your creditworthiness and the capacity to pay using the data on your mobile phones. It means you don’t need to have a banking history to get a credit score.
At the comfort of your home, you can apply for a loan and wait for the decision in a few minutes. You just need to have a valid identification card and you are ready to go.
Special note: Be reminded that the interest in a loan payable within 30 days is 15%. I have shared Tala to some of my friends, and a few of them were preferred to go for a traditional loan with lower interest fees.
But why go for Tala if the interest is high?
When you are in need, you don’t want to wait for days for a loan release, and when you are in an immediate need, you might have no time looking for all the documents needed for a traditional loan application.
Ready to get started?
Here, I will share my personal experience with Tala Philippines a few days ago!
I have heard about Tala from a friend of mine, the fact that it has a fast loan approval caught my interest. So, here I am, a happy Tala user.
Step One: Download Tala Philippines in the Google Play Store
Step Two: Register. Once done with the registration, you will receive a 4-digit code via SMS. You will enter this code in the App.
You also need to create a PIN, you need this PIN every time you open the Tala App. Safety tip: Do not share this PIN, keep it safe like your ATM PIN.
Step Three: Click on the “Apply Now” button to start the application process.
Step Four: Tell Tala Philippines about yourself by answering the questionnaire. You will answer some basic questions, including your monthly income.
Worry no more about proof of income, bank statement, guarantors or paper contracts. You just need a valid ID.
When you’ve done with the survey / questions, your application will have a pending status. In just a few minutes, you will receive an SMS that will notify you if your application is approved.
Step Five: Choose a payment schedule that is convenient to you. After you have received a text message that informed you your application was approved, you need to check the App again. Simply click on the button to get on the options.
This is my first loan. Since they will just get to know more about me, my first approved amount is Php1,000.00. I am not sure if this is applicable to all. As soon as I am able to build a trust with them, I may qualify for up to Php10,000.00 over time.
Note: Some said the maximum value is Php25,000.00, but on the app, it’s only Php10,000.00. Not bad.
As I said above, the interest is a bit high. For a 30-day payment option, the interest amounts to Php150.00. That is 15%. For a 21-day payment option, the interest is Php110.00, that is 11%.
I want to make sure that I have enough time to prepare for the payment, so I chose the first option.
When you are already decided, simply click on the “Accept and Next Step” button.
Step Six: Prove your identity with a valid identification card. There are several IDs you can choose from. I used UMID (Unified Multi-Purpose ID).
On this part, you need someone to help you take a picture with yourself holding the ID.
- Take a clear picture of the front. Make sure that all four corners are visible.
- Take a clear picture of the back. Same, four corners should be visible.
- Ask someone to take a picture of yourself with the ID in one of your hand. Make sure the ID is clear.
Now, upload the photos as per instruction. When all the three photos are successfully uploaded, the rotating hour glass will be replaced with check.
It will take a few minutes, it might depend upon your internet connectivity.
You are almost done!
Final Step: Choose where to cash out. There are several options, but I choose to send the money to my coins.ph account since there is no transaction fee, unlike other options (Cebuana, Palawan Express, BPI, other banks and padala centers).
How fast the money was transferred to my coins.ph wallet?
Within a few minutes, maybe one or two, the money is already on your wallet. That’s my true experience here. It depends on your internet speed, maybe if your internet is faster, you might see the money on your wallet in less than a minute.
In other words, Tala transfers the money to your coins.ph wallet almost immediately.
Problem with withdrawal fees?
Update – 2/26/2018
I’ve read some comments on forum sites about withdrawal fees. You can actually enjoy the full amount without shouldering any transaction or withdrawal fee by using coins.ph.
That’s the reason why I have chosen coins.ph as a cash out option. Now what? As per experience here, I went to the New City Commercial Center (NCCC) here in Davao City. Unfortunately, the branch nearby does not read QR code to pay for groceries yet.
Since I cannot spend my money on groceries, then I will cash it out via Coins.ph 24/7 eGiveCash.
This cash-out option is facilitated by a third party – Security Bank. It means that I can withdraw the money thru any Security Bank ATM for free.
This is a card-less transaction. All I need is the 16-digit eGC number and a passcode all forwarded via text message.
So, if you have access to a Security Bank ATM, you can enjoy the money from Tala Philippines in full.
How to qualify for bigger loans?
