If you want to start your day happy, then there are a few tips to getting there every morning. You can start your day in a grumpy, frazzled mood, or bright and cheerful. It really is up to you. It’s not all in your attitude, but attitude goes a long way in having a pleasant morning.
1. Have a full night’s sleep. Getting a good, full night’s sleep is a necessity if you want to be happy in the morning. Don’t stay up late watching movies, playing video games, or playing around on the Internet. Sleep deprivation is a leading cause in morning grumpiness.
2. Don’t drink coffee at night. Cut out the caffeine at night. This might seem obvious, but people still do it. Stop drinking coffee in the afternoon if you’re a big coffee drinker. Better yet, drink only a cup or two in the morning.
3. Don’t drink alcohol too late. Alcohol is another factor in having a bad morning. Even if you don’t drink enough for a hangover, alcohol can still keep you from getting a restful sleep at night. Stick to one or two drinks at dinner if you want to drink. Even better if you skip the alcohol altogether.
4. Have a regular routine. A regular, daily and nightly routine is great for happy mornings. Going to bed and waking up at the same time each day is key.
