Yesterday, it was holiday in our country. My friend and I decided to go to the mall because she was looking for shoes for her eldest nephew who just became two years old recently. She was looking for a Nike Rubber Shoes since it was the brand she bought a year ago for his birthday too. She has been to many shopping malls already, called some boutiques, but unfortunately, they have limited rubber shoes for toddlers. I asked her why not buy something else. I mean why not buy a different brand of rubber shoes like Reebok, Adidas, converse, and the like? What she answered made me thinking too. I like Nike and Nike has always been a trusted brand for me.
I am the type of person who would buy expensive rubber shoes than buying leather shoes or casual shoes. If I could find a leather shoes for work that would cost less than a thousand pesos, the better. If I saw a rubber shoes from Nike that I really, really like, even if it will cost me more than three thousand pesos, I would probably buy it.
While my friend was busy browsing shoes is the boutique, I was also busy fitting Jordan’s Wolf Grey. The rubber shoes posted cost almost five thousand pesos. And if they did have my size, I might have bought it yesterday. Luckily, there was not, so it saved me a lot of money. Whew!
So, how do you buy shoes? What are the things that you look into? What is the main factor or reason why you will buy those shoes? Here are some tips that might help you in choosing:
1. Brand. Honestly, I look into brand names because some brands really make comfortable and durable shoes. For rubber shoes, I have always been a Nike Fan ever since I was still in elementary. I tried other brands before like Adidas and Converse, but I still stick to Nike. Why? Probably because I got used to it already. I trust it. I think my money will not be of waste. I think it looked cooler than the other brands.
2. Price. Do you think it is reasonable? Example is the Jordan Wolf Grey I just fitted yesterday in a Nike store. It cost almost five thousand bucks. Why? because it is Jordan. He is a legend. Is it reasonable? I believe so because I have bought two Jordan rubber shoes already when I was still in high school and they were really durable. I used them for playing basketball and they never failed me.
3. Comfort. Nike rubber shoes has always been comfortable for me whether is a basketball shoes, sneakers, cortez (soccer shoes), and running shoes (Nike Free). I love wearing rubber shoes especially if I will be experiencing long walks. They are never bulky and they are not heavy especially Nike Free.
Do I have the same tips when I want to buy leather or formal shoes? Nope. When I need to look for something formal, I always look at the price first then the comfort. I am not picky with the brand. I don’t mind if I bought an unknown brand of leather shoes or pumps because I know, I will not use those shoes all the time. Therefore, I don’t want to spend thousands of pesos for shoes I won’t be wearing that often. Thank God for Payless store because they have SALE almost all the time and their shoes (the formal ones) do not cost that much. I think the most expensive leather shoes I have bought were 800 pesos versus the 3,000 pesos of rubber shoes.
