Sometimes, you are faced with making tough decisions. It is like in a situation you would rather not make and that makes you unsure of where to really go—would it be going to where your mind tells you or what your heart dictates you.
A woman who is about to give birth is in a critical condition. The husband then is asked if who among the mother and child should be saved since only one of them could actually go through the ordeal and stay alive. Should he choose his wife or the baby that they have waited for years?
A man marries for the second time. From his first marriage he had a daughter. Although the second wife knew about the child, she then convinces his husband to let the child live with another relative than to live with them. How could a father just leave his child that way?
There are a lot of situations wherein we are caught in between doing something that we know what is right but somehow, the love that we have for another person gets in the way. Should we think of what others would want from us or should we follow what out heart desires?
Given a situation, one should take as much time as possible to gather his thoughts and as much information that he needs. It might be best to talk to someone who can somehow help you make a decision, someone who is compassionate and sympathetic. The best choice would probably somebody from the religious sector. People like them would never judge you for what you might tell them. They could only help you strengthen yourself for whatever decision you have to make, to be comfortable with what you think is best to do and to not blame yourself for the consequences that would come after.
Steer clear of second guessing what it would have been like had you chosen the other option you had in mind. Be firm with what you have decided upon. Think of it this way—things are bound to happen no matter what kind of decision you may have. It is just by accepting that certain situations could not be avoided and that you have to know your way out without carrying any guilt for as long as you based your decision on what is good and just.
