With the kind of lifestyle and phase of the so-called, “millennials”or the “24/7” generation whose age ranging from 8 to 28 years old, they are candidates of forgetfulness. Well, we are of no exemption because within the realms of aging we tend to forget, admit it. We are forgetful … Guilty as charge!
On the other hand, God came up with three causes of forgetfulness that holds us under bond regardless of generational differences, lest we may be careful. Deuteronomy 8:11, “be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God.” God is receptive in warning His people to some possibilities that we forget Him and His commands.
The three common causes of forgetfulness are: prosperity, pride and power.
Prosperity has its own way to freeze our memory and our hearts. Pride has the power to lure us to forget Him who delivered us while obtained and unguarded power may block our minds from Him who administer it to us. These three are dangerous, it may stir our hearts and minds that causes us to forget that we are all under the grace and mercy of God.
Which one among these three that seems to start creeping your minds now? As the song goes, “don’t forget to remember me” I will say, “don’t forget to remember God!”
