For a lot of women, the number one thing you can do to feel beautiful is to take great care of your skin. Whether you’re running out to the store to buy milk bare-faced or slathering on layers of foundation for date night, you’ll absolutely feel better if you have clear skin. Here are a few tips that might help you keep your skin in tiptop condition…
Stay Hydrated
First of all, staying hydrated is great for your health in general, not just for your skin! But in terms of skincare, very little is better for you than making sure that you drink a lot of water. The old adage of drinking eight glasses a day can be a great guide to help you on the way – just remember that whenever you feel thirsty, you’re already dehydrated. Drinking more water will help to cleanse your system and make your skin more full, firm and bright, along with helping to remove the shadows under your eyes.

Be Aware Of Your Skin Type
Remember that not everyone has the same skin type, and if your friend swear by a certain sort of moisturiser then it won’t necessarily suit you. If you have oily skin and you’re susceptible to zits, a heavy creamy moisturiser might not be for you – go for a lighter gel based one instead. If you have sensitive skin, make sure that you use hypoallergenic products that aren’t fragranced so you don’t end up breaking out.

Take Care Of Any Issues
If you have any issues with your skin, don’t just ignore them. Use sheet masks (and remember to massage the serum into your face and neck afterwards), put toothpaste on zits over night to dry them out, and learn more about hyperpigmentation treatment online if you find that you have brown marks, which have often been caused by healing wounds – for instance old acne scars. If you’re really unhappy with your skin, speak to a dermatologist who can help you with specific problems.

Stay Out Of The Sun
One of the top ways to age gracefully is to stay out of the sun. Not only can it give you skin cancer, but it will also mean that your skin gets some problems with discoloration and dryness – and let’s face it, being in the sun for too long can also cause wrinkles. Even if it’s winter, put on sunscreen before you put on your makeup to protect your face long term from the perils of UV rays. It’s the best way to make sure that your skin is still baby smooth well into your thirties and forties.

Keep Cleansing
Finally, remember to remove your makeup every night before you go to bed before using a toner and moisturiser. Serums can also work extremely well for a lot of people by locking moisture into your skin, meaning that you’ll wake up looking bright eyed and bushy tailed. Face brushes can really help to remove any dead skin cells or leftover dirt.
