The diet will not starve you to death and does not require you to exercise for long hours. Once you are on the diet, your calorie intake will be controlled and there will be injection of HCG drops into your bloodstream.

The drops will help you reduce weight and the low-calorie diet will make sure you are not hungry. HCG diet has been developed after scientific research and has been adopted and followed by many.

Healthy diet

Phase 1 of HCG diet

There are three phases of the diet. These are explained in detail here. The first phase is the phase of gaining before losing. During this stage, the patients are asked to force feed. They are asked to consume high-calorie diet unto their maximum capacity.

This period could range from three days to one week before the treatment. This phase helps you prepare for the coming phases and there will be a stock of normal fat reserves before your diet is cut down to 500 calories per day.

You can eat any food during this phase and the duration of the phase will also depend on the requirement of the patient. Most patients are asked to eat high-calorie food until the fourth day of the drops and patients are given appropriate time before they begin eating the limit of 500 calories.

It will take some time for the hormones to adjust to the body and for the body to accept the hormones and the change in the diet. The initial three drops are not effective since it only prepares the human body for the subsequent drops.

A lot of patients are scared of eating a large number of calories, but any weight gained during this period is usually lost immediately during the second phase of HCG diet. Patients who consume high-calorie foods during this phase are rewarded in the later period.

Foods that should be eaten during this period include eggs, milk chocolate, bread and butter, pastries and other fattening foods.

Phase 2 of the diet

It is only in the second phase that the diet and drops begin to work. The HCG drops comprise most part of the treatment in this period. The meal will remain limited to 500 calories every day. This could include 100g of meat, a fruit, a bread and 3.5 ounces of vegetables.

The diet should be strictly followed in order to see high results. Most patients do not feel a difference in the first couple of days while many feel a headache or hunger pangs.

Patients eventually start seeing a weight loss as they move through this phase. Those patients who have followed the instruction and ate in their full capacity have seen better results than those who ignored the first phase of feasting.

Phase 3 of the diet

This phase of the diet will help you get back to your normal routine. During this phase, you need to increase the calorie intake from 500 to unto 900 and this is done by consuming food products that have been suggested by the physician. Increase the vegetable and protein serving and add one or two new foods every week.

The second week of phase three should increase the calories to 1100 and you can consume pork, Greek yogurt, turkey and even white cheese. It is important to monitor the weight and make changes to the diet if you notice any gain in weight.

In the third week of the phase, you need to eat calories ranging between 1200-1300 and there is a broad food selection to pick from. At this stage, you should be able to consume anything without putting on weight.

Post Diet concerns

Once the diet is complete, a lot of patients are too eager to increase their intake of calories. When they realize that they can eat anything without putting on weight, they are tempted to increase the calories.

However, it is best for patients to avoid sugar for a while. They can consume anything in limited quantities and not all at once. To bring the body back into the routine, it is ideal to consume more calories in small amounts. This will help the body adjust to the new routine.

In case of protein, the patients are advised to consume a large amount to make up for the deficiency while they were on the diet. High protein foods should be consumed in large quantities after the completion of the treatment.

The final phase is the phase of maintenance where the body will adjust to the regular diet. It is important to follow the final phase strictly for fast results. The daily calorie intake should be consumed as per the recommendation and sugar should be avoided. You need to ensure that you do not gain a lot of weight during this phase.

After the completion of the diet, you can introduce carbs into your daily routine and stick to a particular well-balanced diet. If you continue with a healthy diet, you will be able to lose weight even after the HCG diet is concluded.

Losing weight is as easy as gaining weight if you follow the right steps.

You need to remain committed to the HCG diet for the particular duration and stick to the low-calorie diet. In addition to the drops, it is the low-calorie diet that helps you lose weight.

The duration of the diet and the dosage of the drops will vary from one patient to another and it depends on their requirement to lose weight.

HCG diet is not meant for everyone and it is best to consult a doctor before starting out on one.
