Have you gone to a store or any business office and you were greeted with a smile by it’s owner or secretary? What do you feel? Or have you gone to inquire about a product, or to pay a service provider, and you got nothing but a square face and frown? How does it feel?
These are common scenarios when customers go to transact business or buy something from a store or business center. When you were welcomed with a nice face, you were enticed to go back and patronize that store or establishment. You feel that you are given an importance as a customer, so your ego is boosted and have a light heart to transact business again. You become a loyal customer.
But when the situation was reversed, you were treated as if you would not pay or have no money to pay for a product or service, and you got nothing but suspicious looks from a store owner or an employee of an establishment, then you would swear you will not go back to that store though they offer goods at lower prices.
My point here is, a business owners, employee or front desk officers should always think that customers wanted to be given importance. To be treated as “king” or “queen” and sure, you will gain their loyalty. They will always return to your store, or even recommend it to his/her friends and families. And that is called direct advertisement, that is good public relations in conducting a business. That is business with a smile, and surely, profit would be smiling at you!
