The objective of the game is to be able to form as many words as the player can from just the given word/words. There should be a time limit. Are you ready? Game!!!
The given word is ANAGRAM

ok.. time is up!!!
1 point = 2 letter word 3 pts = 4 letter-word
2 points = 3 letter-word 4 pts = 5 letter-word and up
This is one of the games I use in the class. My objective is to settle down the noisy students, nahhh… not at all though it does give a 5-minute quiet and busy time for them. This game helps students to think and learn words, in other words, widening their vocabulary. The scores that the students will get is not as easy as the given instruction above, just self scoring, because all the words which are the same with the other classmates are strike out, leaving only those “unique” words, which will be verified, counted and scored. The student who will get the highest score will win.
My students’ English literacy level here is ranging from 1 to 3, which 1 is one two words and 3 can speak basic broken English. (Please don’t take this as an offense, I don’t mean to belittle my students, it is the reality because learning the English language is just so new to them.) That’s why I encourage them to use the dictionary. In this game, I ask them to use the dictionary, although supposedly it should not. However, I don’t like to discourage them of not coming up with a single word so I allow.
I also use longer words like sunrise or English Lessons, so that the students can find many words.
